Designer Digitals, Prima and rgss

Designer Digitals is offerring a free download of a bunch of cool digital elements. They look really neat. Unfortunately, perhaps because I use a Mac, I'm not able to download any of this. But definitely give it a whirl. I'm not really into digital scrapbooking, but if I got ahold of some free product, I certainly would try it. Let me know if you're able to complete your download. Whether you get the download or not, the Designer Digitals site offers a free tutorial using Photoshop or Elements. So, if you are interested in trying digital scrapbooking for the first time, this site could be a big help. They also offer a ton of other digital tutorials for different ways to customize your pages.

I love the scrapbook layouts on the Prima blog. Prima has beautiful products and I adore the way they layer the products on the pages they post. Just lovely. Here's my problem: those of us who are, I believe, your average scrapbooker, love all the new products, but are at a fiscal crossroads when it comes to purchasing said products. I mean, I'd love to stock up on Prima products
and be able to layer product on product to achieve that same beautiful effect that their designers manage (like in the layout to the right from the Prima blog), but those things are PRICEY! Is it reasonable to assume that your average scrapbooker buys all those products? Perhaps if you're at a different place in your life with extra time and money than those of us with small children and loads of things we need to do and buy for our homes, then buying tons of expensive products is feasible. But it's just not for me. I want them. I look at those layouts with envious eyes, I admit, but I recognize that buying lots of cutting edge products is just not going to happen. I have to pick and choose what I want and I need to stretch out the use of what I do purchase. It must be so awesome to design for a scrapbooking site and be handed all those lovely things and just told to create. That just seems like a dream come true. Like I said, I love to peruse their blog and look at the layouts. They do give me ideas, I just need to manage them on a smaller scale.

I came across a scrapbook supplier on ebay that sells thousands of cool new products at reasonable prices. The seller is rgss of yourscrapbooksupply. They have just tons of stuff and it's all the nice brands that you'd find at a scrapbooking store, which are harder and harder to find these days. Shipping can be a bit pricey, but if you spend $50, they'll give it to you free. They also have a 100% feedback rating after thousands of reviews. You should definitely check them out.
